Fujitsu Esprimo Q1500 - small and powerful

Fujitsu’s latest mini PC is a sight to behold. The form factor is incredibly small, but unlike many other Nettops, it packs a punch. The system is based around what Fujitsu call the “latest Intel mobile technology”, which on the spec sheets is either going to be an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 ” 2.53GHz, or a Celeron 900 ” 2.2GHz. Memoery will be 1 or 2GB as standard, upgradeable to 4GB. The internal hard-drive will be either 160GB or 250GB, although a 320GB option is also mentioned.
Interestingly, Fujitsu are including an option for a Blu-Ray combo drive. Paired with a DVI port with HDMI adapter, and the ability to push pixels up to 1920×1200 (using Intel’s GMA 4500M HD chipset), Fujitsu are obviously making a claim on the mini-media PC market that is starting to appear around Nettops.
Everything else is pretty standard: LAN, optional wireless, internal and external SATA ports, 6xUSB and built in audio, the Q1500 is rounded off nicely.
Of course, with a more powerful CPU comes a higher price point, so expect it to cost a couple of hundred quid more than your usual Nettops, but for the processor and Blu-Ray drive, that might just be worth it…
